The 2026–2030 Utah State Cancer Plan is a comprehensive needs assessment and implementation guide designed to reduce our state’s cancer burden. Cancer remains Utah’s second leading cause of death, and more than 17,000 Utahns will be diagnosed with cancer this year.
Driven by activities focusing on promoting information, partnering with Utah providers, and creating policy and environmental change, the plan outlines actionable implementation steps. Key priorities include expanding mobile screening in rural areas, boosting adolescent HPV vaccination, lowering household radon exposure, and supporting Utah’s 142,000 cancer survivors by combatting financial toxicity and food insecurity. Together, these coordinated efforts maximize our collective impact, working toward a future where no Utahn suffers unduly from cancer.
